Process side (Seal chamber)

Description:

Circulation of the medium to be sealed from the seal chamber through a cooler back into the seal chamber.

The circulation is carried out by a pump device in the mechanical seal.

Common use:

• Standard operating mode for hot water applications
• For clean media to be sealed
• For cooling the process-side (inner) mechanical seal
• For venting the seal chamber

Application example:

Sealing of hot water (e.g. boiler feed water) in pumps with single-acting mechanical seals to prevent the evaporation of the medium to be sealed at the seal faces.
